Miles Chatain is a partner in our Greensboro office with a practice focused on tax matters relating to investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity, loan and credit opportunity funds, and real estate funds. He has extensive experience in advising fund managers and structuring investments for and on behalf of tax-exempt and non-U.S. investors, including sovereign wealth funds. Miles also has experience in a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate acquisitions and dispositions, debt and equity financing, structured finance transactions, joint ventures and real estate.
Prior to joining the firm in April 2013, Miles was Counsel in the tax department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York, where he had been since 2001. He has an undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago and received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2001, magna cum laude.
